  1. Take 150 gm of sona masuri rice.
  2. Provide 150 gm of moong masoor dal(mixed in equal measure).

  1. Wash and soak the rice and dal for 10 mins. Meanwhile chop all the veggies.
  2. Heat oil in a pot, add the whole garam masala saute and then add the onions... fry till golden and then add the chopped tomatoes...mix well.. then add chopped vegetables and saute.. add soaked rice and dal and mix well for 2 mins...add 4 cups water and cover and let it cook on slow flame..
  3. Keep stirring in between so that it does not stick to the pot... once the rice and dal is cooked well, check for the consistency... the khichdi should not be too runny or too thick... drizzle some ghee on top and serve hot with aloo ka bharta and baingan ka bharta.
